The Wiz (film). Group of photos and research materials for the scenic design, parade float, props and other elements, including the Yellow Brick Road. With a small notebook "The Wiz Drawing Schedule" with key including Emerald City, Graffiti City, Evillene’s Bedroom, Evillene’s Sweatshop, Poppy St. and Alley, Bridges, Motel exterior and interior, Amusement Parks, etc.; and a research folder of the skyline and inspiration photos and clippings, and six boxes of Polaroids and negatives. Created and compiled by Tony Walton for the film The Wiz, Universal, 1978. Tony Walton was the production designer and did the costumes for The Wiz, and was nominated for 2 Academy Awards in 1979 – Best Costume Design, and Best Art Direction – for his work on the film.
