Large collection of black and white photos of The Wiz maquettes, some photos of costumes masks, and copies of The Territory Band, Coney Tin Territory, Glinda and her Snowbabies costume designs. With prints of costume designs for Scarecrow (Michael Jackson), Dorothy (Diana Ross), Tin Man (Nipsey Russell), Evillene (Mabel King), Coney Tin Territory, The Crows, Booth Head, Fortune Teller, Territory Band, Evillene, The Wiz (Richard Pryor), and Cowardly Lion (Ted Ross). This lot also includes 25+ cassette demo tapes from The Wiz, Great Expectations, 1600 Pennsylvania, Del Tredici ‘Alice", Soon as I Get Home, Home, Home; He’s the Wiz, Mean ol Lion, So You Want to Go Meet the Wizard, Wiz Demos, You Can’t Win x 2, Be a Lion, Wiz, Believe in Yourself – Glinda and Dorothy, Feelings, Ease on Down, and Red Poppys. 5 cassettes from 1600 Pennsylvania, 2 cassettes from Great Expectations, and 5 cassettes from Del Trenci – Alice. All as is. Cassettes have not been played or tested for content or quality. Created and compiled by Tony Walton for the film The Wiz, Universal, 1978. Tony Walton was the production designer and did the costumes for The Wiz, and was nominated for 2 Academy Awards in 1979 – Best Costume Design, and Best Art Direction – for his work on the film.
