Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). The Boy Friend (film). Set design drawing, pen and ink on paper, Le Crazy Golf. Mark Borghi label with info on verso, exhibited Mark Borghi, Sag Harbor, New York, "A Christmas Carol to Tony Walton", December 2021-February 2022. 11 1/2" x 22" (with frame 15 3/4" x 26 1/4"). Creases and waviness to paper; losses to frame. Created by Tony Walton for the film The Boy Friend, MGM, 1971. Twiggy won two Golden Globes – Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy and Most Promising Newcomer – for her performance, and the film was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. Tony Walton would later do the sets for regional theater productions of The Boy Friend, in 2003 and 2005.
