Lot 160:
This comprehensive collection includes 25 action figures in their original cardback and blister packaging, spanning the late 1970s through the mid-1990s. The lot represents a diverse cross-section of toy history, featuring prominent manufacturers such as Hasbro, Kenner, Toy Biz, Mego, Playmates, Bandai, Tiger Electronics, and Remco. Notable franchises and characters include G.I. Joe (Sgt. Savage and Talking Battle Commanders), Marvel Comics (Hall of Fame Dazzler and a K-Mart exclusive Spider-Man/Human Torch Team-Up), Swamp Thing, Gargoyles, and Captain Planet. Significant vintage highlights include a Harry Booth figure from Disney’s The Black Hole by Mego (c. 1979), a Tonto figure from The Legend of the Lone Ranger by Gabriel, and a "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan figure from the WWF Hasbro line. Other series represented include Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad, Saban’s Masked Rider, Space Precinct, Inspector Gadget, M*A*S*H, and the Mighty Crusaders. The figures are primarily constructed of molded plastic and vinyl, ranging in scale from 3 3/4 inches to 5 inches. Manufacturing origins include Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. Inventory includes a Tootsietoy Flash Gordon Star Ship and various international market releases such as Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) characters.
Condition: All items remain in their original, unopened factory packaging. The figures themselves appear to be in unplayed-with, mint condition. The cardbacks and plastic blisters exhibit varying degrees of age-related shelf wear, including corner dings, edge wear, surface creasing, and original retail price stickers. Several plastic blisters show typical UV-related yellowing or light crushing. One cardback (Mighty Crusaders) shows a significant horizontal crease and some separation. Overall, the collection is well-preserved for display.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program. Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
All five figures remain factory sealed in their original blister packaging. The cardboard cards exhibit varying degrees of shelf wear, including softening at the corners, edge creasing, and minor surface scuffing. The transparent plastic blisters show age-related yellowing across all units. One Will Scarlett blister packaging has a notable crack and partial separation from the card along the top edge. The handwritten inscription on the signed Will Scarlett card remains clear and legible despite minor surface wear to the card\'s gloss.
