This Salmagundi Oil on Canvas titled, "Captain Cook: Australia Bound" (Salmagundi Club Collection), signed Kipp Soldewedel – 1978 Kipp Soldwedel (1913 – 1999) was an internationally known American artist and a Salmagundi member in 1963. He was known for his beautiful depictions of maritime scenes and featured in various prestigious magazines such as National Geographic and Life among others. Today, Soldwedel’s work can be seen in the rotunda of the Statue of Liberty and at the American National Art Museum of Sport.
