Bilum string bag, finely woven with red and grey stripes.
Similar bag held at the Ethnologisches Museum der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin, Nr. VI28106, attributed to Georg Friederici (1866). Georg Friederici was a German Ethnologist. He also served as military attached at the German Embassy in Washington, DC 1894-95, and was sent to New Guinea on expeditions in 1908-1910. He died 1947.
