Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Once There Was a Russian. Sketchpad with 11 original ink on tracing paper drawings. 7 costume design and 4 set design. Each sheet 8 1/4" x 11 1/2". All as is an in production used condition, many pages detached. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of Once There Was a Russian, Music Box Theatre, 1961. Tony Walton designed both the costumes and the sets for the show. Officially, Once There Was a Russian was Tony Walton’s first Broadway production, however the show ran for only one night, opening and closing on February 18th, 1961.
