Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). King David. Group of 7 pieces of original artwork, backdrop and other scenic design elements. Mixed media, including acrylic, printed and cut paper, velour, metal and other materials and with Tony Walton’s notations in ink. With two additional backdrop color prints and 2 window cards / posters. "Performance Deck" 23" x 30 3/4". All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the limited Broadway performance of King David, New Amsterdam Theatre, 1997. King David was the first production at the New Amsterdam after it was renovated by the Walt Disney Company. Though it had been used for films, prior to King David, the last stage production at the theater was in 1937.
