20 Gastroliths including 5 larger and 15 smaller. Largest is 3" x 3.5" . Dinosaur gizzard stone from Jurassic Period, Morrison Formation from Big Horn Basin, Wyoming .

These sought after colorful highly polished, well rounded stones are also known as "gizzard stones" or "stomach stones" and have been found with the remains of many extinct dinosaurs. They are similar to the small pebbles and gravel found in the gizzards of chickens and other birds. It is assumed that these stones were used to grind up the stomach contents of these reptiles, thus aiding in their digestion.
