Containing a Faithful Account of the Fortunes, Misfortunes, Uprisings, Downfallings, and the Complete Career of the Nickleby Family. First edition, in 20 monthly parts bound in 19 (XIX and XX combined). April 1838-October 1839. First issues IV and V. In red cloth case and red cloth and leather faux book slipcase. Clara B. and Edward C. Daoust bookplate inside cloth case, ex-libris.
Wear and some losses to original blue wrappers, some tears to covers and spines, bottom corner torn on No. I and corners clipped on some installments, burn to bottom corner of cover XV, names written in ink on some covers, foxing to plates; corners bumped, some wear and scratches to leather on slipcase.
