Charles Dickens (England, 1812-1870). Hard Times. For These Times. First edition, 1854. Bradbury & Evans, London; printed by Bradbury and Evans, London. Original green cloth boards with gilt lettering. 5 1/4" x 7 1/8".
Wear and discoloration to cover, corners bumped and fraying, spine fraying, tears to cloth on spine, separation of front and rear boards, notations in pencil front endpaper, tear to top of half title page, binding loose, some foxing to front endpaper and half title page, some warping to pages.
Provenance: Demetzy Books, England, 4/6/1978; private collection, New York City; thence by descent.
