Louis Pierre Ledoux’s hints and suggestions on how to do fieldwork in the region, provided to Douglas L. Oliver who was headed to Bougainville, Solomon Islands in 1938. Douglas L. Oliver was a 1934 Harvard graduate, and also research associate at the Peabody Harvard Museum of Ethnology and Archaeology from 1936-1941. His numerous published works include journal articles, museum papers, and books.

Includes Louis Pierre Ledoux’s impressions of various people at the University of Sydney and in the region, including anthropologists Camilla Wedgewood, Ian Hogbin, EW Chinnery, General McNicoll, etc.
