Carved Thai deity sculpture. Thai, Late 19th Century. An intricately carved figure of a Thai warrior deity or demon, with heavily detailed armor brandishing a sword and supporting his headdress, standing on flowing water. Sculpture has two flat head screws behind its head and skirt, evidencing repair. Some loss to wood. From the collection of the Salmagundi Club, the oldest artist’s club in America. 74" H x 16" L x 12" D
