Remington new model army revolver, manufacturer’s stamp on topside of octagonal barrel. Serial number 115601 stamped under barrel.
Top strap was the basis of a modern revolver, fires 6 shots, loaded with powder and ball or paper cartridge. Can pop cylinder out and replace rather quickly to reload. Made towards the end of the Civil War for Union, marked 105601.
Bore is strong. Cylinder tight when locks up.
Some wear to barrel.
