William Makepeace Thackeray (England, 1811-1863). The Paris Sketch Book, by Mr. Titmarsh, in 2 volumes. First edition, 1840. John Macrone, London; Whitehead & Co. printers, London. Cloth boards with gilt lettering, in cloth cases and cloth and leather faux book slipcase with gilt lettering. John Tilleard bookplates front pastedowns.
Corners bumped and fraying, wear and fraying to spines, volume I spine torn and split, front board volume I partially separated, bindings loose, front and back boards and spine detached from text volume 2; wear and losses to leather on slipcase, shelf wear to bottom of slipcase.
