Publisher William Blackwood and Sons, Edinburgh and London; printed by William Blackwood and Sons, Edinburgh. With 16 page Messrs. Blackwood and Sons advertising catalog at back of volume III. Red cloth boards, gilt lettering; in cloth cases, with red cloth and leather faux book slipcase with gilt lettering. Michael Sadlier’s bookplate front pastedowns. Books 5 1/4" x 8 1/8".

Wear to covers, spines and corners, shelf wear and wear to top edges, corners bumped, some separation at front and rear pastedowns, bindings loose, Michael Sadlein labels to front pastedowns, top corner of page 105 volume I torn; writing in pencil interior of cloth covers; scratches, wear and losses to leather on slipcase, scratches to cloth on bottom and side of slipcase.
