Mark Catesby (England, 1683-1749). Hand colored ornithological engraving The Crested Jay, fig. 15 from Natural History of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands, with accompanying text page in English and French and additional partial text page on verso. Blue Jay sheet watermarked I HS I Villedary. Sight size 12" x 15 1/2" (with frame 17" x 21"), text page 19 3/8" x 14". Some roughness and minor tears along edges of text page, tear repaired on bottom corner of text page; some discoloration.
