Pair of Louis XV style gilt fauteil form armchairs. Carved gilded wood, needlepoint scenes of a pastoral couple, padded arms. Losses to gilt and gesso throughout wood of both chairs, especially on feet and sides of chair backs. Staining, fading and wear to upholstery of both chairs, with tears to upholstery on front of seat of one chair. Scuffs and marks to wood on back frame of both chairs. Staining and marks to upholstery on back of both chairs. Splits to wood where end of arms meet with chair backs on both chairs. 44 1/2" H x 27" L x 23" W. Seat height 17", arm height 27".
