Nancy Brighouse English tall case clock. 19th century. Mahogany, painted face with floral motifs, port scene, and Roman numerals. Remnants of "Nancy Brighouse" painted across face of clock. Clock restored by horologist Melvin Kaye in 1988. Small scratches and splits to wood throughout case. Splits to wood on front feet of case. Splitting to wood straight through back panel of clock. Losses to veneer and finish on case and on back right section of bonnet. Chips, flaking and losses to paint on face of clock. Split and loss to wood on back right edge of case. Splitting and cracks to wood on front right side of base. Movements have not been tested. Brass fittings on turned supports of bonnet are loose. Crack to brass fitting on right carved scroll on top of bonnet. Original weight hook is missing. Later hardware to pendulum. Split to wood on back right foot of case. Some glue blocks, bottom base panels, and other wooden pieces are separated and provided with the clock.
