Hand painted fan, with mother-of-pearl guards. 17th and 18th century love scenes painted by Edouard Moreau, signed Moreau in panel of couple dancing at military camp at right and dated Edouard Moreau Pinx. 1866 at center; chateau in wooded landscape painted on verso, signed Allonge on left side; carved mother-of-pearl guards and painted sticks. Fan approximately 11"H x 21"W open. Tears and creases at pleats, tears and fraying at guardsticks, both guardsticks cracked and with later reinforcement, one separated (piece present), restorations to lower corners of fan at guardsticks.
