Aesthetic Movement bamboo chair and plant stand. Late 19th century. Chair with bentwood bamboo frame, splats, and cowhide upholstery. Stand covered in Victorian paper on top with woven lower tier. Scuffs and nicks to bamboo on legs of plant stand. Tears, tattering and losses to paper on top of plant stand. Splits to bamboo on legs of chair, with later hardware for reinforcement. Separation and break to bamboo on bentwood splat of chair. Staining, wear, and deterioration to leather of upholstery and cushioning.
Plant stand: 16 1/4" W x 14 3/8" D x 28 3/8" H. Chair: 15 3/8" W x 17" D x 36 1/4" H. Stand and chair weigh 12 lbs. total.
