Signed Ishiguro Koko Sumida ware Japanese pottery planter with pedestal base. Red body with blue, green and purple glazed decoration and applied figures of men and children. Both signed with blue Ishiguro Koko gourd form seals. 30 7/8"H; planter 10"H x 12 1/2"-diameter at top. Both with losses to red painted decoration; planter foot of figure chipped, one figure missing hand and repaired at head, minor chips and roughness to figures throughout; pedestal minor chips to figures throughout, tool in one figure’s hand chipped, glaze misses at base and chips to underside.
