Lot 49:
A. Gardner Scottish tall case clock. Late 19th century. Burled mahogany, brass pendulum and eagle finial, painted arched dial. Arch of dial depicts scene entitled " Come Under My Plaidie" with four allegorical depictions of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland on each corner. Dial marked "A. Gardner" and "Slamannan". Nicks, scratches, and scuffs to edges throughout wood. Cracks to wood on left and right sides of case. Crazing, marks and paint losses to dial. Works have not been tested. Safety pin attached to top of pendulum. Cracks to glass on door of bonnet. Small veneer losses to bottom of bonnet door. Crack and repair to wood on right side of case door. Bonnet does not sit flush on case. Nicks and chips to wood on feet. Pendulum, two weights, and later works key are provided. Split to wood on back of case. Separation to wood on bottom right side of case. One glue block is separated.
21" W x 10" D 88 1/2 " H. 80 lbs total.
