After Benjamin Franklin Smith (American, 1830-1927). Engraving, Brooklyn, N.Y. 1854. Engraved by Wellstood & Peters after a painting by Benjamin Franklin Smith. 24 3/4" x 37 3/4" (with frame 27 1/2" x 40 1/2"). Foxing, toning and discoloration to margins and image, scratches and creases to sky, 2 small stains lower left, 15"L horizontal tear from left side into image with additional tears and losses upper left, tear upper right, not examined out of the frame but sheet appears to have been cut down on left and right sides.
