After Robert Benard (French, 1734-1777). 3 colored engravings of musical instruments, after engravings by Benard from Diderot’s Encyclopedie. Plate II, Lutherie, Instrumens Anciens et Modernes, de Percussion; plate VII, Lutherie, Instrumens Anciens, Modernes, Etrangers a vent a bocal et a anche; plate XI, Lutherie, Instrumets qui se touchent avec l’Archet. Plates each 14 1/8" x 9 3/8" (with frames 22" x 16"). All with scratches and chips to frames, notations written in ink on glass.
