Attributed to William Edward Norton (1843-1916). 2 nautical drawings, pencil and pastel on paper, Arctic Journey. Right sketch with illegible inscription, left sketch with very faint and illegible inscription or signature lower left. "William Edward Norton Sketches Arctic Journey", "Christie’s sale Inez March 18 1983 (#5282) lot # 13A William Edward Norton 29 Sketches Arctic Journey" and "March 18, 1983 Lot 13A" written on paper backing on verso. Each image 4 1/4" x 7 1/2" (with frame 12 1/2" x 23 23 1/2"). Toning to paper, foxing and stain to left image, small tear visible along right edge of right image; scratches, chips and losses to frame.
