Frederick Arthur Bridgman (American, 1847-1928). Pencil drawings on paper, study for Bridgman’s oil painting The Funeral of a Mummy. 5 sketches of figures, unsigned, titled Funerailles in pencil lower left. Unframed, matted. Sheet 9 1/8" x 11 3/4" (with mat 22" x 16"). Creasing to edges and corners of sheet, light toning, sheet attached to mount at top; discoloration to mat. Provenance: Sotheby’s 1990, private collection New York City.
Bridgman’s oil on canvas, The Funeral of a Mummy, is on display at the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, KY.
