Francois Rabelais (French, c. 1494-c. 1553). The Works of Rabelais, with illustrations by Gustave Dore, Chatto and Windus, London; Oeuvres de Rabelais, 2 volumes, Librairie Garnier Freres, Paris. All with foxing, toning and discoloration to pages, shelf wear, corners bumped; Dore book cloth on spine and front board torn and separating from binding, rear board torn and separating at pastedown, staining and scratches to boards, fraying and fading to cloth, holes in cloth on front board and into spine, notations in pencil on front endpaper; Oeuvres wear and losses to leather, tears to leather on both spines, name and date written in pencil on flyleaf of both volumes.
