Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). The Red Devil Battery Sign. Portfolio containing original artwork, photos, notes and other papers related to the production. 5 original set design sketches, including 3 in red pencil on black paper and 2 in pencil on tracing paper; 2 mounted sets of photos of various set design elements and a negative copy of the same images; group of papers including Tony Walton’s handwritten notes, typed schedules and other papers. Black paper sheets 9 1/4" x 12 1/4". All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the regional production of The Red Devil Battery Sign, Shubert Theatre, Boston, 1975. Tony Walton resigned from the show during production, a note on the portfolio reads "’Red Devil Battery Sign’ (Resigned… some materials sent to Robin Wagner)".
