Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Midsummer Marriage (opera). 60 pieces original production artwork, projection designs. Including 6 ink and wash projections, Predators, 2 signed and captioned "Midsummer Marriage – Hawk Projection" in ink, others unsigned; and 54 additional pieces of artwork, mostly watercolor and color wash. Some with additional notations in pencil on verso. Largest "Hawk" projection 13 3/4" x 28 5/8". All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of The Apple Tree, Sam S. Shubert Theatre, 1966-1967. Tony Walton was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Costume Design for The Apple Tree in 1967, and the show was nominated for Best Musical the same year.
