Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Woman of the Year. Set model, mixed media with wood, acrylic, gouache, cardboard, paper and other materials. Model 23 1/8"H x 35 1/4"L x 17 1/4"D. With a set of 14 additional model pieces, mostly backdrops, hangers and walls, most metal and black board. As is and in production used condition, and with missing, loose and otherwise damaged pieces, additional backdrops detached from wood hangers. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of Woman of the Year, Palace Theatre, 1981-1983. Lauren Bacall won the Tony Award in 1981 for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in WOTY, and the show was nominated for Best Musical the same year.
