Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). The Goodbye People (film). Group of original set design artwork. Mixed media with acrylic and crayon on board, hot dog stand at night, Design for Silverman / Kormann Joint Venture – Beach View, dated ’83 and initialed AK lower right – the AK is likely a reference to Arthur Korman, Judd Hirsch’s character in the film, 17 5/8" x 28 3/4"; crayon on paper drawing, Men’s Room Neptune Mural, 17" x 14"; photostatic print for Max’s New Originals Hawaiian Ecstasies hot dog stand grand opening "The Ecstasies Are Coming", 20 3/4" x 16 3/4"; with 7 sketches in ink and pencil for hot dog stand, blueprints and plans for the hot dog stand, 12 cut out photos of statues – some with handwritten notations, 4 pencil on tracing paper character sketches, palm tree collage, a spuriously autographed photo of Al Jolson inscribed "To Max From Jolie, Best hot dog in town!" (Max was Martin Balsam’s character in the film), and an envelope containing two folders of typed, handwritten and copied notes, lists, research materials and other papers related to the production; 2 posters.
