Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Group of 17 pieces of original scenic design artwork. Show curtain (building exterior), gouache and colored pencil mounted on black illustration board, with 4 printed variations – 1 with collage and 1 with colored pencil additions, also mounted; interior scene, gouache and pencil, mounted on black board; Groundrow, gouache and pencil mounted on black board, with a cut out print of the same image; Translucent Day-Time Prop #1 (cityscape), gouache and pencil mounted on black board, with 3 printed versions of the same image; window panels gouache and pencil mounted on black board; 2 collage with cut printed paper Translucent Night Drop – Stage Left Section and Stage Right Section, with a printed version of both together. Curtain (exterior) painting 14" x 28 5/8" including mount. With 5 additional color copies of the same images, 3 small pencil sketches, and a manila folder containing typed, handwritten and photocopied notes and other papers related to the production. All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Richard Rodgers Theatre, 1993-1994.
