Description
This lot comprises two vintage Takara Combat Armor Soltic H8 Round Facer Series-02 dual model kits, originally released in the early 1980s as part of the Fang of the Sun Dougram merchandising line. These 1/72 scale figures utilize Takara’s signature dual model construction, featuring a heavy zinc diecast metal internal frame designed to be outfitted with dark green molded plastic armor plates. The units are housed in their original black cardboard boxes, which are decorated with gold-line technical illustrations and detailed specifications in both English and Japanese. The manufacturer name Takara is clearly marked on the reverse of each box. Included with the models are various loose weapons, armor components, and a factory decal sheet. Box measurements are approximately 9 1/2 inches by 8 5/8 inches.
Condition: The set is presented in mixed states of assembly. One unit is noted as new and remains partially housed in its original internal packaging inserts. The second unit is partially assembled and is accompanied by a variety of loose accessories and an unapplied decal sheet. Both original boxes show visible signs of shelf wear, including scuffing to the edges, corner wear, and surface abrasions. All parts appear original to the period.
