Description
A vintage TOMY Omnibot 2000 programmable robot, a flagship of 1980s consumer robotics. Constructed of off-white and grey molded plastic, the unit features distinctive translucent orange eyes and an integrated cassette tape deck used for both audio playback and data storage for programmed movements. The torso houses a digital LCD clock and a comprehensive Computer Programming interface with a front-loading control panel. This lot includes the original retail box, a white plastic accessory service tray designed to be held by the robot’s motorized arms, an AC power adapter, and the original square black grid mat with red and white markings used for navigation programming. The unit bears the serial number ZXRS 010327 on the underside. Dimensions: 27.5 x 18.25 x 16.25 inches.
Condition: Item is offered in non-working condition. Was plugged in and did not start. The plastic housing exhibits significant age-related yellowing and surface grime throughout. The rubber treads on the drive wheels show advanced deterioration and cracking. The original retail box is in poor to fair condition, showing heavy wear, creases, edge tears, and remnants of old adhesive tape. The handheld remote control is not present.
