Description

This lot consists of approximately ten vintage Marvel Comics character collectibles and toys produced between 1979 and 1985. Featured prominently are six Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars Big Buckle belt and gumball dispensers manufactured by Superior Toy & Manufacturing Co., Inc. (dated 1985). This set includes four Captain America and two Spider-Man versions, each constructed with a plastic buckle housing a hidden gumball dispensing lever and an attached vinyl belt. The collection also includes a Spider-Man telephone by REC Sound (Model SSF-200) in its original illustrated box, featuring a tone/pulse switch and LED indicator. Additional items include a 1979 Durham Industries The Amazing Spider-Man Wind-Up Swimmer (Item No. 5712) with mechanical swimming action, a 1980 Corgi The Incredible Hulk die-cast vehicle (Item No. 56115) made in Singapore, and a Fantastic Four Return Guest Star Sub-Mariner Mighty Marvel Collector’s Album paperback published by Lancer Books. A small loose Spider-Man figurine on a yellow base is also present. Measurements of the grouped lot are approximately 11 by 11 inches.

Condition: The collection is in fair to good overall condition. The Secret Wars Big Buckle dispensers are in original blister packs, though cardbacks show creasing, edge wear, and tape residue; some units are missing the original gumballs. The Spider-Man telephone is in its original box, which shows significant shelf wear, corner crushing, and a vintage price sticker. The Durham and Corgi toys remain on their original cardbacks with visible wear to the packaging. The Lancer Books paperback shows typical age-related toning and edge wear. The loose figurine shows minor surface wear. Items are sold as-is, and mechanical or electronic functions have not been tested.

Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program.  Please request in-house shipping, if needed.

Condition report:

All 27 pieces remain in their original, unopened blister card packaging. The packaging is generally in good condition, exhibiting vibrant colors and clear plastic bubbles. Some cardboard backings show minor shelf wear typical of age, including light edge softening, corner dings, and surface creasing. A few packages retain original retail price stickers or adhesive residue. Internal figures and accessories appear complete and undisturbed.
