Pop Culture Time Capsule: TV Memorabilia & Vintage Toys
Lot 198:
This lot features a curated collection of vintage The Incredible Hulk toys produced by Mego Corp., Durham Industries, and Corgi during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The primary item is an 8-inch Mego action figure constructed of vinyl and plastic with original cloth shorts, presented in its original pink window box marked ©1974 Marvel Comics Group and manufactured in Hong Kong. The lot also includes a second Mego 8-inch action figure from 1978 with its original cardback. Further items include a Durham Industries Wind-Up Swimmer toy, model number 5712, in its original unopened blister pack marked ©1979, and a Corgi Hulk figure on a red tricycle, model number 56115, in its original blister pack marked ©1980. These pieces represent the height of Marvel character licensing during the character’s peak television popularity. Lot dimensions approximately 11 x 8 inches.
Condition: The items show varying degrees of age-related wear. The boxed Mego figure appears complete and in good condition; the box exhibits shelf wear, minor creasing, and surface abrasions to the upper right corner. The loose 1978 Mego figure is broken at the right leg joint and the accompanying cardback is severely damaged with significant tearing and tape residue. The Durham Wind-Up Swimmer is in an unopened blister pack with minor edge wear and yellowing to the plastic. The Corgi blister pack is heavily worn with creasing to the card and yellowing and cracking to the plastic bubble.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program. Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
The item remains in its original unopened packaging. The cardstock backing exhibits significant edge wear, corner softening, and creasing. There is a prominent horizontal tear through the \"Torche Humaine\" logo on the front and some surface paper loss near the top left corner. The plastic blister shows surface scuffing and light interior dust but remains securely attached to the card. The figure appears complete and well-preserved within the bubble.
