Description
This lot features a vintage Captain Action action figure manufactured by the Ideal Toy Company during the mid-1960s. The figure is constructed of articulated vinyl and plastic, standing approximately 12 inches tall. He is dressed in his signature blue and black fabric uniform featuring the CA logo on the chest. Accessories include a blue officer’s cap, black boots, and a blue vinyl parachute pack with orange straps and a white parachute. The item is presented in its original color-illustrated cardboard box which features vibrant artwork depicting various licensed superhero costumes available for the figure, including Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Flash Gordon, The Phantom, and The Lone Ranger. The box prominently advertises a FREE 4 Ft. PARACHUTE INSIDE. This figure was a landmark in the industry as the first action figure designed to transform into other licensed characters. Includes the original interior cardboard neck brace insert. Dimensions approximately 13 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches.
Condition: The figure and fabric uniform appear to be in good condition with bright colors and functional articulation. The blue vinyl parachute pack and boots show light wear consistent with age. The original cardboard box shows significant signs of wear, including scuffing along the edges, creasing, and a large area of surface paper loss on the reverse panel. The interior cardboard insert remains intact. The set appears largely complete as pictured.
