Pop Culture Time Capsule: TV Memorabilia & Vintage Toys
Lot 336:
This lot consists of five vintage 12-inch scale Luke Skywalker action figures manufactured by Kenner, dating to approximately 1978. These figures were part of the original Large Size Action Figure line released following the debut of the first Star Wars film. Each figure features an articulated plastic body with a molded vinyl head and rooted-look hair. The figures are dressed in their original fabric outfits, which include a white wrap-style tunic and tan trousers. The costumes are accented with black plastic utility belts featuring silver-painted buckles and white molded plastic boots. This collection was previously cataloged as Lot #10190 at Willow Auction House. These large-scale figures were designed to compete with other popular 12-inch action figures of the era and remain a staple for vintage Star Wars enthusiasts. Each figure measures approximately 12 inches in height.
Condition: The collection shows significant signs of age and heavy play wear. The fabric components exhibit heavy staining, yellowing, and fraying, with one figure specifically noted for a large vertical tear in the trouser leg. The plastic bodies show surface soil, scuffs, and dark markings, particularly on the hands and faces. One figure has white adhesive residue remaining on the chest. The silver paint on the utility belt buckles shows varying degrees of rubbing and loss. The white plastic boots display age-related discoloration. The figures are incomplete, as they are missing original accessories such as lightsabers and grappling hooks.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program. Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
The item is factory-sealed and has been professionally graded by AFA as 80 Y-NM (Serial #12120235). Individual sub-grades are C80 for the card, B80 for the bubble, and F75 for the figure. The Y designation indicates age-related yellowing of the plastic bubble. The card and figure exhibit typical shelf wear consistent with the assigned Near Mint grade, including minor edge wear on the card. The figure and accessories remain in their original factory positions with no evidence of tampering or restoration.
