This lot features an original, unused chest emblem sticker from the iconic 1960s Batman television series starring Adam West. The emblem consists of a yellow oval background with the classic black bat silhouette. These stickers were a vital component of the production costume design; as detailed in the accompanying documentation, the Batsuit was comprised of a Danskin leotard to which a fresh sticker was applied daily and removed after filming. This specific example was preserved by the production costume designer and supervisor, Jan Kemp (James Richard Kemp). The item is accompanied by a typed and signed letter of provenance from Kemp daughter, Lisa Anne Kemp Herridge, which provides a firsthand account of her father work on the series and how this sticker was saved from disposal. Also included is a Certificate of Authenticity from Prop Store (Registration No. COA-3759C3AC) for Lot #97, featuring a holographic seal and official signature. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a pristine, non-production-worn piece of television history. Measures approximately 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches.
Condition: The sticker is in excellent, unused condition. There is minor edge wear visible along the top margin of the yellow oval. The adhesive backing remains intact. Accompanying provenance letter and COA are in fine condition with standard folding to the letter.
