Description
Three original cardboard counter display boxes of movie picture cards produced by Topps Chewing Gum, Inc. of Duryea, Pennsylvania. The collection includes one box for “Superman II” (dated 1980, printed 1981) and two boxes for “Superman III” (dated 1983). Each display box was originally designed to hold 36 wax-wrapped packs. The Superman II packs are labeled to contain 11 movie picture cards, one sticker, and one stick of bubble gum. The Superman III packs specify 10 cards, one sticker, and one stick of bubble gum. Each box 2.5″ H x 7″ W x 5″ D.
Condition report:
The display boxes show notable signs of age and shelf wear consistent with retail use, including corner dings, edge tears, creasing, and surface abrasions. All three boxes contain original, unopened wax packs; however, the total pack count per box is undetermined and they are not full sets of 36. The internal bubble gum is assumed to be brittle or expired due to age and is not intended for consumption.
