Collection of 53 vintage pinback buttons and square pins from the late 1970s to early 1980s. Includes icons from music, cinema, sports, and political history. Music-related items include several designs featuring The Beatles and John Lennon, Elvis Presley (including Fan Club of N.Y.C. and Boxcar Enterprises issues), KISS, B.B. King, Johnny Winter, Jean-Luc Ponty, and Boy George. Promotional items for WPLJ Radio festivals from 1980 and 1982 are also present. Film and TV pins include Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back characters Yoda and Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi, along with Superman and Spider-Man. Animation and theme park interest includes Disneyland pins featuring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
Condition report:
The collection is in good to very good vintage condition. The printed graphics are generally bright and legible. Some items exhibit light surface scratches or scuffing to the protective plastic layers. The metal reverses show varying levels of age-related oxidation and light surface rust. All pins appear to retain their original fastening mechanisms.
