Description
Large American folk art sculpture of a laborer. The piece is constructed from a heavily textured and painted composition or plaster material, presenting a rough-hewn surface finish. The sculpture is mounted onto a square wooden plinth base. Appears unsigned. 24″ H x 7 1/2″ W x 7 1/4″ D.
Condition report:
The sculpture shows visible signs of age and wear. There are prominent cracks throughout the figure, particularly notable on the lower legs and feet. Scattered areas of paint loss are evident across the surface, most significantly at the points of contact between the feet and the base, revealing a white substrate beneath the painted finish. The wooden base shows edge wear and minor surface abrasions.
