Regency style mahogany metamorphic library table transforming into a six-step library ladder. Rectangular tabletop and stair treads inset with green leather panels decorated with gilded Greek key borders. Curved handrail extends when piece is opened. Four fluted legs on brass casters. Interior with storage compartment. 30 1/4″ H x 40 1/2″ W x 25 1/4″ D, closed. 76″ H, fully extended.
Condition report:
The piece displays age-appropriate wear throughout. The leather surfaces exhibit significant circular staining, discoloration, fading, and surface scuffs. The mahogany frame shows light scratches, minor edge losses, and spotting to the finish. Brass hardware shows expected oxidation and wear to the gilding.
