Description
Group of four vintage mechanical registering coin banks constructed from lithographed tin and plated metal. Includes a 1905 Universal Three Coin Registering and Adding Bank by Shonk of Chicago; a 1913 A Provident Four Coin Registering and Savings Bank, also by Shonk; a Premier 3 Coin Model; and a 1915 Commonwealth Three Coin Registering and Savings Bank produced by Shonk Works. Largest bank 5″ H x 4″ W x 5 1/4″ D.
Condition report:
The lithographed tin banks exhibit minor surface scratches, edge wear, and small areas of paint loss. The Premier bank shows significant pitting and oxidation on the plated metal components and paint loss on the blue base. Mechanical movements were not tested for functionality. Each bank retains a yellow dealer price sticker on the reverse.
