Description
Collection of 20 vintage printed cardboard action figure card backs manufactured by Kenner. The assortment includes packaging remnants from several theatrical releases: Star Wars (Original), The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Power of the Force. Featured characters and vehicles include Luke Skywalker, Die-Cast Metal X-Wing Fighter, Han Solo, Han Solo (Hoth Outfit), AT-AT Driver, Stormtrooper, Klaatu, Princess Leia Organa (Combat Poncho and Boushh Disguise), AT-ST Driver, Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard and General Pilot), Lumat, Emperor’s Royal Guard, Rebel Commando, Ree-Yees, Paploo, and Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2). The cards feature original lithographed graphics and several retain retail price stickers from stores such as Kay-Bee and Toys R Us. One gold-tone Special Collectors Coin remains attached to the Paploo card. The X-Wing Fighter card includes its internal plastic form. Each card 8″ H x 6″ W.
Condition report:
The cardboard backings exhibit significant wear, including heavy paper loss and tearing where plastic blisters were previously attached. Additional wear includes creasing, edge fraying, corner blunting, and surface scuffing. Most plastic blisters have been removed, though partial remnants exist on the Paploo and Artoo-Detoo cards.
