Description
Two vintage Japanese remote control gorilla and monkey toys. The first is a larger gorilla with a painted face and metal chain. Marked on the upper back Louis Marx and Co made in Japan. The remote control box is detached. The second is a smaller monkey with feet marked made in Japan, connected by a brown wire to a tin litho remote control box. Not tested. Largest item 10 1/2″ H x 7 1/2″ W x 4 1/2″ D.
Condition report:
The plush fur on both primates is matted and shows some thinning. There is visible paint loss and scuffing to the molded faces and feet. The metal remote control boxes show surface scratches, minor denting, and areas of oxidation. Significant surface rust and corrosion are present within the interior battery compartments of both units. The battery box is fully detached from the lefthand figure.
