Description
Weighted sterling silver Edwardian footed compote by Stockwell and Co. Flared bowl with a scrolled handle, supported by a weighted pedestal base. Hallmarked on the exterior rim and underside of the base with a lion passant, leopard’s head, and date letter h for 1903. Maker’s mark GS for George Stockwell. Gross weight 630 grams. 7″ tall.
Condition report:
Signs of wear consistent with age, including surface tarnishing and minor scuffs. Notable area of damage is present on the edge of the circular foot, where a small section of the silver has been lost, exposing the weighting material beneath.
