Description
French Provincial style rectangular garden or cafe table with a hand-painted top and a decorative metal base. The tabletop is constructed of a wood or composite core with a thick gesso ground, finished with a pale yellow field and a terracotta colored border. The central motif consists of a hand-painted fruit still life. The table is supported by a wrought metal base composed of four curved legs terminating in flared feet. 30″ H x 36″ W x 28″ D.
Condition report:
Significant and widespread paint loss, flaking, and chipping are present on both the tabletop and the metal base, revealing the underlying substrate. The piece exhibits an aged, weathered patina consistent with exposure or intentional antiquing.
