Description
Group of 12 hand-modeled terracotta figurines depicting various stylized human and mythological figures. Several figures are portrayed in active poses, including musicians playing instruments such as a flute, a harp, and an accordion-style instrument. Other figurines are shown in seated or kneeling positions holding bowls or shallow vessels. Distinctive forms include an individual with a spiked radial headdress and an elongated figure featuring horizontal, fin-like protrusions. The collection exhibits a range of earth-toned colors from warm orange-buff to cool grey and charcoal, with visible surface sooting and variations characteristic of traditional firing processes. No maker’s marks or signatures are present. Largest figure 7 1/2" H x 4 3/4" W x 1 1/2" D.
